“We did this trek on my 40th birthday and what a way to start my next decade! It started with a 2am pick up in Ubud and we got to the bottom of the mountain around 330am. We were given tea, a head torch, and a stick (if you wanted it). There were also toilets available at this point (none at the top so go before you start!). Ricky was accommodating to us when we wanted a break. He kept checking on me which I think was excellent. We chose to take the harder route up and it was worth it. Ricky had prepared breakfast at the top and even got us the most amazing location to watch the sunrise. On the way down, he also explained and showed us various locations.
